How to warm up milk in a Philips Avent Natural Glass bottle

Published on 2022-02-23
Milk should be heated gradually to help preserve the valuable nutrients and vitamins in breast milk. If milk becomes too warm, nutrients and vitamins can be damaged. To help maintain the quality of your breast milk, it is important to heat the milk in a safe and controlled way.

Please allow gradual heating if you have a cold bottle (e.g., from the refrigerator). For instructions to warm your bottles in the Avent bottle warmer, please regard the User Manual of your bottle warmer.

  • It is not recommended to place a bottle with cold contents directly into hot water, as this can result in uneven heating.
  • We do not recommend using a microwave to warm up your baby's food or drinks. Microwaves might alter the quality of food/drinks and destroy valuable nutrients. Furthermore, microwaves do not heat evenly, and they might leave "hot spots" that would not be noticeable to you but could burn your baby.
  • When heating liquid or food in the microwave, please only place the container without a screw ring, teat and cap. Constantly stir heated food to ensure even heat distribution and check the temperature before serving.
